Will Dance for Trompo

IT’S TACO TUESDAY EVERY DAMN DAY

let’s taco bout it

…especially about tacos de trompo hailing from a hidden, unassuming, no-frills taqueria in West Dallas.

Unfamiliar with these Monterrey-style street tacos y quesadillas? Press play to watch the meat marinate & cook on a spinning top (aka trompo) as I dance in anticipation. #REEDallaboutit

How about some “salsa” with your trompo?! …Not just any flavor combination has me feeling the tacos in my tastebuds AND my hips! Trompo has the local reputation and national accolades to please any taco snob or connoisseur. Like the interior, the menu is minimal and limited to take the guess work out of ordering. Plus, you’re guaranteed a perfect bite each time as its the way mama made it (no substitutions)!

Owner and friend, Luis Olvera, is a passionate restauranteur (and a gourmet raw-food chef) with a love for people and bringing them together. From humble beginnings of popular backyard pop-ups and local catering gigs to its hole in the wall storefront on Singleton, Trompo has provided the community with tradition, paprika-heavy roasted pork and a promising future. With plans to expand its growth and maintain a heavy finger on the pulse, Luis will soon be relocating Trompo to the heart of Oak Cliff in the Bishop Arts District // Be sure to STAY TUNED for this exciting news and more! //
